Grammatical Sentences from An Astrologer's Day

Do as directed.
1) Punctually at midday,he opened his bag and spread his professional equipment.(Make it simple sentence)
Ans: Opening his bag punctually at midday,he spread his professional equipment.
2Dr)He sat under the boughs of a spreading tamarind tree. (Frame a Wh question to get the underlined part as its answer)
Ans: Where did he sit?
3)He had left his village without any previous thought or plan.(Identify the tense, change it in  Simple future  tense)
1)Ans: Past perfect tense.
2) Ans:He will leave his village without any previous thought or plan.
4)If he had continued there  ,he would have carried the work of his forefathers.(Use 'Unless')
Ans: Unless he had continued there, he would not have carried the work of his  forefathers.
5)He could not rest  till he left it  behind a couple of hundred miles.(Use 'be able to')
Ans:He was not able to rest till he left it behind a couple of hundred miles.
 6)He questioned," Is there any woman in your family,may be even a distant relative who is not well disposed towards you?"( Change into indirect speech.)
Ans:He questioned /asked if there was any woman in his family, might be even a distant relative who was not well disposed towards him.
7)The nuts vendor blew out his flare and rose to go home.(Make it simple sentence)
Ans: Blowing out his flare,the nuts vendor rose to go home.
8)He looked up and saw a man standing before him.(Make it simple and complex sentences)
Simple: Looking up,he saw a man standing before him.
Complex: When he looked up,he saw a man standing before him.
Or
Complex: As  he looked up,he saw a man  standing before him.
9)He sensed a possible client and said,"You look careworn .It will do you good to sit down for a while and chat with me."(Change into indirect narration.)
Ans: He sensed a possible client and said that he looked careworn.  He added that it would do good  to sit down for a while and chat  with him.
10) If  I prove you are bluffing,you must return that anna to me with interest.(Rewrite by using 'Unless')
Ans: Unless I prove you are bluffing,you must not return that anna to me with interest.
11)"If you find my answers satisfactory,will you give me five rupees?" asked an astrologer.(Change into indirect speech.)
Ans: An astrologer asked if he found his answers satisfactory, whether he would  give  him five rupees.
Or An astrologer asked whether  he would give him  five rupees if he found his answers satisfactory.
12) I should have been dead if some passer -by had not chanced to peep into the well.(Remove 'If - not)
Ans:I should have been dead unless some passer-by had chanced to peep into the well.
Or
Unless some passer-by had chanced to peep into the well,I should have been dead.
