Speech on the 'International Yoga Day.'

Very good morning to everyone and happy yoga day. Honourable President, respected Principal, respected teachers and all my dear friends, today we have gathered here to celebrate the 6th International  Yoga Day.  This day is celebrated annually on 21st June since 2015. Our honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi proposed it  during the speech at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.And from the next year means in 2015 United Nations declared 21st June as the International Yoga Day.
Friends, Can you tell why is the date 21st June  chosen?
Yes,it is because 21st June is the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere. So the United Nations declared 21st June as the International Yoga Day in order to spread awareness among the people regarding yoga.
  What is yoga?
Well, yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual discipline. It originated in India more than 500 years ago.The word yoga came from Sanskrit word yuj that  means  to yoke, unite or join. Though no one knows the inventor of yoga, still it is generally believed that Sage Patanjali who is the pioneer of yoga wrote Yog Sutras . Beneficial exercise (Asanas),proper breathing (Pranayama), complete relaxation (Savasana),balanced diet and nutrition, positive thinking and meditation  are the principles of yoga  that are still  being followed today. In an ancient age ,Rishis ,Munis, sages and Saints practised yoga and meditation regularly. Swami Vivekananda,Swami Ramkrishna Paramhans , Swami Dayanand  Saraswati who  practised meditation regularly and reached at the culmination point of spirituality. We can not forget the name of Ramdev Baba who is the present yoga trainer. As we listen or read the word yoga ,the figure of Ramdev Baba comes before our eyes.
Yoga uses asanas(postures) and Pranayam(breathing techniques) to integrate the body with mind and mind with soul .
We all know that the health is wealth. And yoga is a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind is in a healthy body (sound mind is in sound body).Yoga is beneficial to us in many ways.It helps to manage stress and anxiety and keeps us relaxing. In today's fast life,no one  is free from stress and anxiety. So yoga , pranayam and  meditation are very essential  things to keep us healthy and tension free.It improves respiration, blood circulation, energy and vitality. Regular practice of yoga can help to lose weight, release stress , improve immunity, improve concentration and so on.On seeing the benefits of yoga,we should practise it every day without fail.
Our honourable prime minister started the celebration of this day because he wants healthy  and self-reliant ( आत्मनिर्भर भारत )India. If we are healthy, our country will prosper because only healthy people can work efficiently for the growth of Indian Economy.
Therefore, we should practise  yoga and meditation regularly  so that we will be healthy and fit.
 Happy Yoga Day.
Thank  you.🙏🙏

Speech on The Indian Constitution Day

 💫 *Speech Writing*💫

*The Indian Constitution Day* 🖋️✒️📘📘

*26th November*

Exuberant good morning to everyone. Honourable chairperson, the Principal of our college ,Mr/Mrs......., respected teachers and my dear friends. We celebrate many days to commemorate the great personalities and their work.Likewise,we also commemorate 26th November as *The Indian Constitution Day*.Our honourable Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi declared this day in the year 2015 because that year was the year of 125th birth anniversary of Bharatratna Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Friends, can you tell why it is  celebrated on 26th November?Yes, because the Constitution Assembly /Committee adopted the constitution on 26th November 1949 which was come into force/effect on 26thJanuary 1950.

Well,we have to follow the traffic rules. Why?yes, because to avoid the mishaps. Our schools and colleges have certain rules  regarding  uniforms, time tables  and so on.Why? because such rules are needed for disciplinary and smooth working of our schools and colleges.Likewise, Constitution is needed for the nation.

    *What is constitution*?

Well, constitution is a set of rules and regulations which is essential for disciplinary adminstration of the government. It is the framework, document or a book that guides the government to work smoothly.

Friends, we all know the history of Indian Independence. When we were ruled by the Britishers, they appealed us to draft our own constitution. And  in response to their appeal ,the work of constitution was begun. The Constitution

Committee was formed whose president was Dr.Rajendra Prasad and in which *Constitution Drafting Committee* was formed whose president was Bharatratna Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar.

There were seven members in this *Drafting  Committee*, named Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyar,N.Gopalswami,Dr.B.R.Ambedkar,K.M.Munshi, Mohammad Saadulla,B.L,Mitter and D.P. Khaitan. But as a president of Drafting Committee ,Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar contributed the Lion's share in drafting our constitution. That's why he is called an architect of Indian Constitution. He studied the constitutions of many countries such as America,Japan, Russia,France and England. He took the essence from them. After spending a long period  of 2 years,11,months and 17days,our constitution was ready.

Friends, our constitution is am amalgamation of the constitutions of the world. It is the world's largest constitution that contains 465 articles,12 schedules,122 amendments and 146385 English words. It is the blend of rigidity and flexibility. It is in both forms, written like America and unwritten like England. The original constitution (1950)is preserved in *helium filled case* at the parliament house in New Delhi.

Well, our constitution is the sole backbone of the country that has kept the country together. Our constitution declares India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic assuring its citizens the principles like *Liberty, Equality, Fraternity and Justice.* There is equaity before law.It means every citizen of India is equal before law whether he/she is rich or poor ,city dweller or village dweller. Our constitution has given us fundamental rights such as right to vote, right to educate, right to freedom of expressing our thoughts, freedom to speak, right against exploitation, freedom of religion and so on.

Friends, we are given such rights as well as our constitution has given us some duties and responsibilities. *Rights and duties* are the two sides of the same coin. When we fight for our rights,we should also be aware of our duties and responsibilities. We all know that the preamble of the constitution is given on the first page of the text books of all  the standards in which the first sentence is *WE, THE  PEOPLE  OF INDIA.......* In this  sentence the word *WE* denotes the *unity and integrity*.It means we all Indians should live unitedly, work unitedly for the betterment of our motherland.

Dear friends,I hope, you understood very well what I said. So, be the ideal citizens of our nation and serve our motherland by following the  guidelines of our constitution.

I conclude my speech by paying my tribute to Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar .

Jai Hind ! 🙏🙏 🇮🇳🇮🇳

Speech on the National Youth Day

 💫 *Speech Writing*

On *The National Youth Day*( *Yuva Diwas*).12th January 2021.

A very good morning to one and all.Honourable Chairperson, the principal of our college....., my colleagues and my dear students.Today,we are celebrating the National Youth Day.This day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of an eminent personality, Swami Vivekananda since 1984.The main objective  behind the celebration is to make a better future of the country by motivating the youths and spreading the ideas of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekanand was born on 12th January 1863 at Kolkata(Calcutta). He was a son of Vishvanath Datta and Bhuvneshwari Devi. His premonetic name was Narendra. He was a renowned philosopher, poet, writer, orator, thinker, social reformer and patriot. He is best known for his speech at the parliament of the World's  Religion held in 1893 in Chicago. He won the hearts of the American people by  using  the words *My brothers are and Sisters*....He had a spiritual and meditative personality. In 1881,he met with Swami Ramkrishna Paramhans at Dakshineswar's Kali temple and became his disciple. He founded Ramkrishna Mission and Ramkrishna Math in Calcutta.Sister Nivedita was his deciple .His philosophical works comprise *Raj Yog* and *modern Vedanta*.

*'Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached'* is one of the popular quotes of Swami Vivekananda which is the source of inspiration for millions of youth today.

50 %of India's population is under the age of 25 means youth population .In the 21st century era, there is a cut throat competition for youths to make career. And Swami Vivekananda is a role model for the youths because of his strong mind ,body, spirit and role in the nation building activities during the independence movement.

Friends,on seeing the qualities of Swami Vivekananda, we should be proud of him .Be knowledgeable like Swami Vivekananda. You , *youths* imitate the heroes in the film industry. But you should imitate this great hero of India and acquire some of the qualities from his personality. It is ridiculously but aptly said ' *केस वाढवून देवानंद बन न्यापेक्षा  ज्ञान वाढवून विवेकानंद बना* .  Really, his personality is an idol for everyone. His preaching is still useful for us.

Such a great soul departed while he was in a meditative state in 1902. I pay my tribute to him.🙏🙏

Today's second eminent personlity before us is Rajamata Jijabai.Co incidentally,we are celebrating the birth anniversaries of these great personalities on the same date.

*The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.*

Rastrasant Tukodoji Maharaj also says ,"  *जिच्या हाती पाळण्याची दोरी ती जगाला उद्धारी,

ऐशी वर्णावी मातेची थोरवी शेकडो गुरुहूनी."*

These qoutes describe the power of a mother on upbringing a child and these quotes are apt for Jijabai,  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Maratha Empire.

She was an ideal mother who instilled values like patriotism and love for Dharma in Shivaji Maharaj.

Jijabai Shahaji Bhosale, referred to as Rajmata Jijabai or Jijau who was a daughter of Lakhuji Jadhav of Shindkhed Raja. She was born on 12th January 1598.

She was a very courageous woman. When she saw how the Mughal emperors treated the Hindus, she wished to fight with them and establish the Maratha Empire in Maharashtra. And for this great cause, she prepared Shivaji Maharaj right from his childhood. She taught him many moral lessons. And because of her efforts and teachings, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj became the crowned King of Maratha Swaraj on 6 th June 1674.But unfortunately,Jijamata couldn't live in the free Maharashtra for  longer time.It means she passed away very soon after the coronation of Shivaji Maharaj i.e on 17 th June 1674.The credit for establishing the Swaraj goes to her.Really, she was an ideal mother.I pay my homage to this great mother.🙏🙏

Thank you.

Speech on the Death Anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak and the Birth Anniversary of Lokshaheer Annabhau Sathe

*Speech on  the Death Anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak and the Birth Anniversary of Lokshaheer Annabhau Sathe (1st August*

Good morning to one and all. Honourable chairperson, respected Principal,my colleagues and my dear students. At first I bow my head before the goddess Saraswati and the images of the great personalities who are before us i. e Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Lokshaheer Annabhau Sathe.

Why do we celebrate the birth and death anniversaries of great persons? What is the purpose behind these celebrations?Yes, because we celebrate these days to remember them and their work and pay our gratitude towards them and also pay our tribute to them on such days.

  *थोर महात्मे होऊन गेले,

चरित्र त्यांचे पहा जरा,

आपण त्यांच्या समान व्हावे,

हाच सापडे बोध खरा.*

It means we should learn something good from the biographies of such great souls. We should acquire some qualities from them. This is  the purpose of these celebrations.

*"Freedom is my birthright and I must gain it."* was the lion's roar of Keshav Gangadhar Tilak who was conferred the title *Lokmanya* by Rabindranath Tagore. Bal was his nick name .He was born on 23rd July 1856 at Chikhali (Chikhalgaon) in Ratnagiri district. He was born and brought up in a good family. He was educated at Deccan college in Pune where he earned bachelor degrees in Mathematics and Sanskrit. In 1879 he obtained LLB  degree. He was an Indian nationalist, teacher and an independence activist. He was one of the third of triumvirate (  त्रीमुर्ती), Lal- Bal - Pal.

Friends,we all know that our country was ruled by the British. Many freedom fighters shed their blood for the sake of motherland. We can't forget the contribution of Lokmanya Tilak in the freedom struggle. In 1885, *Indian National Congress* was established. There were three periods of Indian National Congress.1)From 1885 to 1905 ,it means from the establishment of Indian National Congress to the partion of Bengal.Moderate period.2)From 1905 to 1920 means from the partition of Bengal  to the death of Tilak. Extreme period or the age of Tilak and 3)From 1920 to 1947 means from the death of Tilak to the Independence.Gandhian period.

From 1905 to 1920 this period is known as Tilak age.He was an extremist.

Tilak started  celebrating two festivals publically.i.e Ganesh festival and Shiv jayanti.(Birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj). His purpose behind the celebrations of those festivals was that he wanted to bring people together and made them aware of the injustice done by the British. In 1916 he started the Homerule  Movement against the British in collaboration with Smt.Anne Bezant who was an Irish lady.

Well, we know the proverb *" The Pen is mightier than the  Sword*".It means  the writing with the pen is more powerful weapon than the Sword. Lokmanya Tilak wrote many aggressive articles in the newspapers , named *Kesari* that was in Marathi and *Maratha* was in English. He created the wrath in the minds of Indians through his writings and speeches. That's why he is called *The father of Indian Unrest*. *Swarajya, Swadeshi, Bahishkar (boycott) and Rastiya shikshan*(National education) were a four points formula (चतुसुत्री) of Tilak.By following those  formulas,he fought against the British.Gopal Krishna Gokhale was his Guru.He had been tried for sedition charges and was imprisoned at Mandalay,in Burma which is known as  Myanmar today for 6 years(From 1908 to 1914). He didn't stand still there also.He wrote the book *Gita Rahashy* during his imprisonment that was the criticism on the Hindu's scripture  the *Bhagvad Gita*.He was determined, patriot , good orator, good writer, the national activist and so on. Such versatile person passed way on 1st August 1920.

     *Annabhau Sathe*

The second image before us is of the folk poet /Lokshaheer Tukaram Bhaurao Sathe , popularly known as *Annabhau Sathe*.

Friends,What a co- incident !.

He was born on the same date of the same year on which Tilak died.It means on 1st August 1920 at Wategaon in Sangali  district. He was a Dalit, born into the untouchable *mang* community .He was a social reformer, poet, novelist and film story writer. *Fakira*  is his famous novel. We can't forget his notable work in Sanyukta Maharashtra Andolan.Such a great person died on 18th July 1969.

Once again I pay my homage to these two great souls and conclude my speech.

Jay Hind ! Thank you.

Speech on Science and Superstitions

 Speech on Science and  Superstitions👇

Exuberant good morning to one  and all. Honourable  President, Respected Principal,my colleagues and my dear students.Today,we are living in the 21st century,in the modern era which is known as the age of science and technology.Today, science has made a wonderful progress in all the walks of life.Though we are living in this scientific age, still there are so many superstitions in our Indian society.
What is superstition?
Yes, superstition means  a belief in supernatural forces. It means blind belief.
Most of the people in our society became the victims of superstition. Many Indian social reformers, such as Mahatma Fule ,Rajaram  Mohan Roy,Pt .Iswarchandra Vidyasagar and many more tried to eradicate the evil customs and superstitions from the society. The saints like Rastrasant Tukodoji Maharaj and Gadge Maharaj also tried to eliminate the superstitions from the society through their literature , chantings ,Bhajans and pravachans. To kill hens, goats or men before the goddess was practised for gaining the blessings of goddess  ( पशुबळी आणि नरबळी)That  was also a kind of superstition.
Late Narendra Dabholkar and Dr.Kalburgi also tried to eliminate the blind beliefs from our society but unfotunately they were shot.
Friends, have you heard the name of Prof.Shyam Manav. Well,he also tries to remove the superstitions from the society  through his  lectures.Superstitions elimination Committee (अंधश्रद्धा निर्मूलन समिती) is also doing the same job for the society.
People link some events with good or bad omen. But in this scientific era ,there is no room for superstitions.Still there are certain superstitions exist which are irrational.Science has made the impossible things possible with the blink of an eye .Science and Superstitions are poles apart.Yet they are the two sides of the same coin.I would like to share few examples regarding this.e.g 1) To eat curd and sugar before heading out for some important work ,is considered to be good luck .
 But it has scientific reason.
Curd has a cooling effect on the stomach and sugar provides glucose that make you energetic to do your work easier and successful. So, its consumption is linked to good luck.
2) Lemon and green chillies hanging together in the front of the shops.
It is one of the most commonly seen superstitions .Well,it is used to avoid buri nazar .But the scientific reason behind  is that both(lemon and chilly) are rich in vitamins and create certain odour that helps to keep away the insects.
3) To bathe after attending the funeral ceremony.
In the past people died of some sort of infectious diseases or epidemic diseases. So, people used to take bath after coming back from the funeral to prevent themselves from the infection from the dead bodies.Still this practice is going on.
4) Lizard's falling on human is considered bad luck.
But there is nothing like that. The scientific reason behind this is that lizard releases poisonous chemicals from its body in order to protect from enemies. So, bath is taken after it falls on someone.
5) To fast on certain days .
It has also the scientific reason. It is good for our health to fast once in a week.
There are so many examples of superstitions.

  •  To cut the nails at night.
  •  To cut the hairs on the certain day.
  •  To eat curd at night.
  •  If the cat crosses the road when we go,it is considered bad omen*.
  •  Barking of dogs .
  • Cawing of crows .
  • Ghost residing in peepal tree.
  • Throwing coins in the rivers brings good luck .etc
There are so many things in which people believe. Even some educated people also believe in palmistry and science of architecture (vastushastra) while constructing the house. But there is nothing like that .All  the directions are good for construction of house. All the days are good to do any kind of work. All the  colours are good to wear. Some colours are considered lucky colours or to wear black colour during the auspicious occasions is considered bad omen. There is  nothing  like good or bad omen.
Friends, the purpose of giving these examples is that don't be superstitious. Some events occur co-incidentally and so people started believing in  certain things by linking the events to good or bad luck.In marathi ,we say कावळा बसायचा आणि फांदी तुटायची.
We have to remove the superstitions from the society and develop the scientific views in people. We should make the people aware of this  so that our society will progress and ultimately our country will be developed.I hope, you will develop your scientific insight, vision.
I give full stop to my speech.
Thank you.🙏🙏
